Hi Chris,

Thanks for joining the call yesterday.

After thinking about it for a while I have decided that while I would
like to pursue having the LIGO SPs federated with some CANARIE IdPs,
either by extending the current pilot project we having going that
involves the UK metadata feed or by LIGO joining CANARIE (I am not
sure which yet since it would depend on more input from others
including yourself), I do not want to take you up on your offer to
"get LIGO into eduGAIN" (my words) via LIGO joining CANARIE.

While it sounds like an interesting opportunity, I prefer at this time
to try and use the LIGO use case to help move the InCommon and eduGAIN
"relationship" (of which I am fairly ignorant) along.

My thinking is that if the LIGO use case(s) can help InCommon towards
the goal (my goal at least) of having interfederation "just work"
after an SP joins InCommon, then that is what I want to try and do. It
might mean some more short-term pain and a longer lifetime for the
LIGO IdPs, but I think it is an opportunity to be useful.

Thanks again for joining in the conversation. We should follow up on
what the plan should be for the LIGO SPs federating with some CANARIE
IdPs.

Cheers,

Scott
