I completely understand the situation are in and I absolutely want to help.
At the same time, I also know that brand identity standards sometimes
dictate things like the color behind the logo, etc.

I'm not proposing that we remove the appearance requirement -- I think it's
important. But I also think that saying "background must be transparent" is
too simplistic.

I strongly disagree.

That leads to the completely dysfunctional situation we have today across
eduGAIN. It is so bad that for my projects we now spend the time to
hand-craft logos for the institutions involved in the project ourselves
because the images provided by the community are, taken together, unusable.

Please consider what the SPs are asking (begging) for..
