I note that these numbers are for 1MB (small) and 12MB (large) objects.  InCommon's current aggregate is 37606786 bytes with 6375 entities, making the average size of an entity under 5900 bytes, much less than 1% of Amazon's "small."  This may have some impact on how well Amazon's CDN is tuned for our content.

Between this and yesterday's discussion of 40+ minutes of downtime per month, I'm starting to think we should look more broadly at CDNs and what they can support.  Akamai, for example, says that they offer a 100% availability SLA, although I can't find it on their site.  (I don't believe 100%, of course, but they probably haven't planned to pay penalties very often, either.)

Anyone have access to a Gartner report on CDNs?
