for folks not as far along in the maturity scale, they might need more help on
the basic concepts/terms.

Addressing the gap is important, and 1.1 of the IAAF now contains a very nice functional model (section 2) of IdM concepts and terms that was intended to address this very gap. It would be good to hear what other gaps might remain.
