As long as I have this group's ear, I'll mention that we have moved
forward with one of the group's Phase 2 Recommendations, that is,
we've launched a Per-Entity Metadata Pilot:

As a sneak preview (you heard it first here :) we will be expanding
the scope of the pilot to include per-SP metadata (in addition to the
per-IdP metadata that is served now). This more inclusive focus
celebrates the metadata query capability of Shib IdP 3, which we
expect to be announced Real Soon Now. As folks begin to deploy Shib
IdP 3, they will be able to configure the IdP with a dynamic
MetadataProvider that goes against the metadata query server deployed
in conjunction with the pilot.

Note that the metadata query server is a BETA server with a
predetermined end-of-life scheduled for April 1 (or thereabouts).
Early in January we will approach TAC and ask that the Metadata
Distribution WG be reconvened to determine the fate of per-entity
metadata in the InCommon Federation. We look forward to having
everyone here participate in the WG once again :-)
