Here are the recommendations from Nancy Hays, the editor of EQ. Looks like
our idea would be interesting to her and the issue theme wouldn't
be...well... an issue.

Good to hear from you, Ann, especially with such an interesting idea for an
article. You don't need to fit a theme of EQ, but if you want to target a
specific issue, that's fine. I always like recommended practices, especially
for such an important topic. Let me know if you have questions as you develop
the article.

Two notes:
* With online publication, please take advantage of alternate media where
possible rather than relying on all text.
* Please keep the article mobile-friendly, meaning short title, concise
presentation including bullet lists, and no pop-up sidebars.

I look forward to learning more about the survey results and sample
practices. Thank you so much for thinking of EQ.
Nancy

Hello!

A group of us associated with the InCommon Student Collaboration Group did a
survey in 2010 on methods for remote identity proofing for distance
education. Our goal was to find out what the community was doing and how they
were doing it.

We're now writing up the results/emerging practices paper that describes 1)
the results of the survey, 2) the theory behind remote identity proofing and
characteristics of good practices and 3) sample (recommended?) practices that
have been reviewed by leading policy experts (such as AACRAO/FERPA folks).

Would this paper be of interest to the Educause Quarterly? We think we could
make the April 1 deadline, if your thought is yes.

Many thanks,
Ann
