Given the few (but high quality) attendees on today's call, we decided 
to postpone the main discussion until next when (I hope) more folks will 
be able to join.

However we did talk about the one agenda item relating to developing fed 
idm practices.  After hearing the persistent plea for practice guidance 
at the AACRAO Tech Conference and the IdM Workshop, I was wondering 
whether this group would be interested in assembling some early 
recommendations for Student Services. The participants on the call (see 
short notes to follow) were in very much in favor. Nancy pointed out 
that the IdM issues are vast and acute, but that we should focus on 
scoping this work to the federated space. However, we might include 
campus IdM practices that are prerequisites for federating.  Stay tuned 
on this scoping issue.

So the call next week would entail 1) discussing the appropriateness of 
this type of work for this group, 2) beginning the development/scoping 
of the list of items to work on (if we agree that this is a good thing) 
and 3) identifying the other orgs that should be included in the 
vetting/development.

Thoughts on this approach?
