Yes, we've already started discussions with campus ITS about a timeline for setting up these sources for attribute retrieval. (ITS is in charge of the IdP for campus).

Today, Shibboleth can be configured to retrieve attribute values from multiple sources. Many sites are doing that today.
Having three different backend systems handling authN, each handling a different subgroup of your population, is an interesting challenge.... ;-) This may require some work; however, there are ways to cascade authN mechanisms that may address your situation.
