Today, Shibboleth can be configured to retrieve attribute values from 
multiple sources. Many sites are doing that today.

Having three different backend systems handling authN, each handling 
a different subgroup of your population, is an interesting 
challenge.... ;-) This may require some work; however, there are ways 
to cascade authN mechanisms that may address your situation.

A quick question -- which vendor supplies your ILS system ?
