Yes. The electronic resource librarian contacts the user and reminds them that they can not download an entire web site. We can shut off their access to through the proxy server if necessary. In theory, the user's access to university services, logging on to the network, could be shut off.
with the current access control frameworks... does anyone have a way to "block" a single user's access to licensed resources? If they work from a single location, you could ask all the vendors to block that IP address? This would be rather easy to get around, however.... You could call the person in, and have the usual disciplinary mechanisms deal with them -- at psu, is this what the elec resource librarian or security officer would do?
does anyone currently have an effective method?
