Issues to address/explore:
1) (From its description and not from experience) I do not think that U-Washington's mod_auth_location meets completely the needs of the library for walk-ins. While it does meet some of the needs, it does not allow users at public terminals the ability for personalized logins. So, researchers would not be able to access their saved searches, saved citations, etc from the public terminals in the library. I would like to explore alternatives.

2) We use a gateway software, Metalib, that is Shibbolized. Metalib is used as the access point to online resources, and provides users with URLs to get to the online resources. However, Metalib does not prefix these URLs with the appropriate Shib IdP prefix in order to properly SSO authenticate the user at the online resource SP. We need to address this somehow, or the user will be hit with a WAYF at the Service Provider.

There are two ways to address this one. One is to address this with the software (Metalib) vendor and ask for the change there. The other is to have vendors (SP) provide a unique entry point URL for each institution that is wedded to one IdP, and could be implemented at the SP side with RequestMap configuration.

Change already... based on feedback, the name of the list and the domain/machine hosting the list have both been changed.... the old list name is going away....

I'd like to suggest two action items:

1) could each campus post to the (new!) email list the set of the issues they feel they'll need to address in order to begin to use Shibboleth within their library services. Possible issues might be technical, integration, user experience, process, policy, whatever.....

2) schedule the first conference call, for some time during the week of April 16th. Please send to the list days/times during that week when you're available.... That week might might turn out to be too close, but let's try....

I'd like to ask if the issues lists could be shared on the email before the first conference call.
