I've been having a back channel discussion with Tom Barton, Scott Cantor, and Scott Koranda on this issue. ScottC and TomB will be bringing this to the TAC. We'll likely set up a small testing project, if you would like to participate.

I will be curious to hear more about the TLS/SHA issue.
it looks like SHA-1 is still acceptable for HMAC use, just not digital signing...
