Hi All,

As we continue on the CommIT project, we're at the point of determining how to match new and existing accounts. We're hosting a call today at 1:00 pm ET about this topic. Feel free to join if you're interested.

My apologies for the late notice.

Best regards,
Ann

Just a reminder that the next scheduled call for the CommIT Business Team is on Tuesday January 28th at 1pm Eastern.  During this call, we will be joined by members of the CommIT Technical Team for a joint discussion on Data Matching for CommIT.  Attached to this email, is a document that outlines how the current matching process works in the CommIT Central Person Registry (CPR), things that Penn State have implemented and/or are investigating for their CPR, as well as a list of discussion questions to facilitate the definition of the CommIT data matching algorithm.

As you will see from the discussion topics, we will begin the process of making some fundamental design decisions for the CommIT Pilot, including:

·         The matching algorithm itself

·         Tolerance levels

·         What to do when a suspected match is found

·         Merging and splitting accounts

·         Account linking capabilities

It is important that we have broad participation on these next few calls as we begin to define HOW CommIT will handle data matching.  If there are others in your organization that have expertise in this area, feel free to invite them to this call.  This is an open community call, not restricted to the Pilot Participants.  Broad community input is desired.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me directly.

Thanks!

Tim
