Ann provided a summary of the project status at this point. 

1. At the PESC meeting in October, the project was divided into two phases: 1) development of the outsourced authentication and shared identifier infrastructure, and 2) creation of a digital notary service for identity proofing individuals 
2. A proposal was sent to the Internet2 Board of Trustees for financial support. There is strong support from the board and from Internet2 management. They would like the project broken into incremental chunks. We are currently developing a pre-production pilot involving just 4-5 institutions, to be available by summer 2013. Changes will be made as needed, then this pilot will roll into full production. 

Harry said North Carolina State is tentatively interested in participating.
