Ann,

I don't believe that this FAQ is regularly viewed, at least in the Registrar
community. You might want to get something into the AACRAO Data Dispenser
(and cite the FAQ) and consider a session at AACRAO in April. Jeff VMS may
be able to help facilitate this if you decide that this is a course of action
you'd like to pursue. Let me know if I can provide assistance. Regards.

All,

InCommon is developing some recommended practices for attribute release, and
LeRoy Rooker has given us a quote to help educate registrars and student
services folks about federation in the context of FERPA.

We're now trying to determine how to promote LeRoy's quote (and the
practices) and have worked with Peg O'Donnell of the Campus Legal
Information Clearinghouse to incorporate it into their FERPA FAQ:
http://counsel.cua.edu/FERPA/questions/questions2.cfm#Directory (See second
question under the Directory Information section.)

Do campuses routinely use this FAQ? Do they see it as a legitimate source of
information? Are there other places where we should promote this?

Many thanks for your thoughts,
Ann
