Subject: HEAD's UP

Folks...just an FYI and a friendly head's up...we have been notified that
tomorrow the US Department of Education will issue through the Federal
Register its latest proposal on revisions to FERPA...the announcement will
ask for a public comment period. http://www.gpoaccess.gov/fr/

Also expect an announcement that Kathleen Styles, previously with the Census
Agency, has been appointed Chief Privacy Office within the US Department of
Education reporting directly to the Secretary of Education Arne Duncan and
responsible for FERPA and a number of other privacy related topics.
