[AI] Nancy will call Jerry Bracken next week. 

--- Meteor and Mapping Your Future
Bob Morgan and Ann West had a good discussion about the requirements of
students directly accessing their consolidated loan information supplied
by Meteor using federated identity. We will have a follow up
conversation in November. 

--- Tom Black working with NSC
Tom will be presenting at the NSC Advisory Board on federated identity
and proposing to pilot new sign-in procedures for students (and abating
the use of SSN as the password). What NSC service will he be proposing
to pilot? Tom?

- EDUCAUSE Annual Conference Planning

        Registrars and Admissions Officers - Joanne is on the agenda
        12:45 p.m. - 2:15 p.m. Thursday
        Administrative and ERP Systems, Data Administration and

--- Vision Document Draft - A Bedtime Story for Student Services 
This doc seems to hit the right targets of security, privacy, and
service flexibility. The group discussed keeping the vision broad and
showing how the services can be integrated from the student's
perspective. Next step is to add a list of discussion questions to the
end of the document. These could include:
        What are the important policy, process, and technology elements
in 
                the story? What important relationships must exist?
        Is this an exciting vision? What seems appropriate or
inappropriate?
        Registrar centric = other scenarios too 
        What does this imply in governance?
        What resources from AACRAO, EDUCAUSE, or Internet2 might be
useful 
                in implementing such a vision?

---- Avow will be visiting with Joanne Berg/Wisconsin folks on October
5.
---- SciQuest will be integrating Shibboleth/federated identity into
their product and it will be available in November. PennState uses them
as a direct procurement vendor. 

- SunGard
--- Sent a number of documents on 9/13 in a note entitled
        "Documents for a Possible Discussion with SunGard"
In our discussion about what to add to these docs, the group suggested
three points:

---- Strong Encryption 
---- Externalize authentication for web-based access. The system should
be able to integrate with web sign on system. 
---- Externalize the Management of information associated with identity
