InCommon Federation Discussions About Online Student Services

David Yeh noticed that the I2/EDUCAUSE CAMP conferences:

on Shibboleth and "scaling secure collaboration" in Portland OR last week 
were a stone's throw from the offices of CollegeNet, so did an email intro 
of some of us who were at the conference with the CollegeNet folks.  Ann 
West and I had lunch on Friday June 29 with Emil Izunagbara, their AVP of 
Business Development and ... (help me Ann, I seem to have lost the card of 
the woman we met with ...) to talk about opportunities in federation, 
Shib, and InCommon.  (Patricia Summers, who David directed his intro to, 
was on vacation unfortunately.)

They were very interested, but since this was an introduction to the 
concepts we didn't have (or expect) any specific followups.  They 
mentioned that their annual conference is coming up this very 
Sunday-Tuesday:

in the same hotel the CAMPs were in, amusingly enough.  If anyone on this 
list, or any of their staff, are going to this it might be a good 
opportunity to follow up with interest from the business side.
