Greetings InCommon Site Administrator,

 

We’re writing to let you know about a foundational piece of Operationalizing Baseline Expectations efforts, the introduction of metadata health monitoring capabilities within the Federation Manager. 

 

What’s happening?

Starting November 8th, the Federation Manager will feature a new ‘Metadata Health’ tab.

  • Initiate a scan of your entity's published metadata health status
  • Review results of periodic published metadata entity scans 
  • Review a trend report of entity endpoint encryption scores
  • In addition to the UI updates, to establish a baseline for overall metadata contact health, InCommon will be emailing published metadata contacts on 11/7/23

 

Why are we adding these features?

These changes are a part of our continuing effort to improve the InCommon Federation’s adherence to Baseline Expectations. To learn more, please visit: https://spaces.at.internet2.edu/display/federation/operationalizing-be

 

What should I do? 

  • No action is required, however, it’s never a bad time to review and update the list of metadata contacts for your organization’s entities
