Dear inc-ops-notifications subscribers,

On Thursday, May 26th, 2022 at 5:30 p.m. ET, InCommon Operations will be
updating the version of the Shibboleth Metadata Aggregator software we are
using to the latest version. This change is primarily intended to move the
federation to the new eduGAIN metadata aggregate for the purposes of
importing/redistributing global federation metadata.

On July 1, 2022 at 00:00:00Z, eduGAIN operations will retire the old eduGAIN
metadata aggregate and its associated public key. InCommon must migrate to
the new aggregate and new key before that date, in order to continue to
consume and redistribute global metadata. This change will be transparent to
all InCommon Federation deployers. As part of the upgrade, we are also
allowing two SAML identity providers, one from FEIDE in Norway, and one from
ZAMREN in Zambia, which had previously been filtered by public suffix
filtering rules placed on all imported IdPs’ <shibmd:Scope> attribute. These
two IdPs are not actually using public suffixes, so we will start to import
them into InCommon metadata as of this change.
