Hello,
The InCommon Federation Manager service has been restored and is running. We had to restore the database from a backup taken yesterday morning at 11:25 a.m. US Eastern Daylight Time due to a problem caused by some database work we were performing today. We were alerted this afternoon that some entity descriptors were removed from the InCommon metadata this afternoon at metadata publishing, which occurred at 2:54 p.m. US Eastern Daylight Time. We have finished signing metadata, and these entity descriptors should be back in the InCommon metadata within an hour.
We will follow up with InCommon Federation Site Administrators who made changes to their metadata between 11:25 a.m. EDT yesterday, and 6:20 p.m. EDT today, when we performed the database restore, and send them the change that they made and request that they make that change again.
My apologies for this inconvenience, we will take steps to ensure it does not happen again. We’ll follow up with a review of the events leading up to this change and publish a report.
