Dear InCommon participants and site admins:

Please note that this message does not require action on your part; it relates to the internal method we use for signing InCommon federation metadata.

Last week, we notified you that InCommon is moving to an automated system for metadata signing that will not require InCommon and Internet2 staff members to travel to the Ann Arbor office for the daily signing. This is part of our efforts to ensure our staff remain safe during the pandemic.

Starting tomorrow - Wednesday, April 8 - we will implement this new system. We have tested this on multiple consecutive days and have encountered no issues. As a safeguard, we will have two people available and able to execute the old process, at the normal metadata signing time. Should something go wrong, they will be able to roll back changes and complete the signing with the traditional method. We intend to have this back-up available for several days.
