InCommon Site Administrators have been listing security contacts in metadata 
since 2011. Recently however, REFEDS, the international organization of 
federation operators, has standardized the security contact in SAML metadata. 
InCommon has adopted this new international standard and is asking all 
affected Site Administrators to convert to the new REFEDS syntax.

We have tried to make this migration as easy as possible. To begin, please 
check the List of Entities with Legacy Security Contacts [1] to see if you 
are affected. If so, simply "touch" each entity descriptor in the Federation 
Manager ("Edit" => "Save" => "Submit") to convert a legacy security contact 
to the new REFEDS syntax.

IMPORTANT NOTE. Like all contacts in metadata [2] the security contact has no 
operational significance. In other words, changing the syntax of the security 
contact (which is what we’re asking you to do) has no effect on 
interoperability.
