If your organization registers one or more IdPs with the InCommon Federation 
(or you intend to do so), please read on for more information.

On Monday, August 8, 2016, InCommon Ops will deploy a new version of the 
Federation Manager [1] with the following modification: the IdP 
mdui:DisplayName will become an editable field. See the “User Interface 
Elements in IdP Metadata” [2] wiki page for more information about 
mdui:DisplayName.

This simple modification will have no direct effect on InCommon metadata. 
However, if you edit your IdP mdui:DisplayName, the edited value will be 
reflected in metadata and downstream discovery interfaces that depend on 
metadata may display that value automatically. Consequently, you should 
modify the IdP mdui:DisplayName with care since your users will select their 
IdP based on the value of mdui:DisplayName you provide in metadata. See [2]
