Subject: [InCommon NOTICE] Resources available for Shibboleth IdP V3

Thank you to the 134 identity providers that have upgraded to Shibboleth IdP
V3! See the Shibboleth IdP V3 Hall of Fame for a complete list of identity
providers running the V3 software: https://spaces.internet2.edu/x/8QCoBQ. We
encourage you to upgrade to V3 so that your IdP can be added to this list.

As we have stressed in previous emails, the Shibboleth IdP V2 software will
no longer be supported after July 31, 2016. This means that future security
issues in V2 will not be addressed, which could put your IdP deployment at
risk. All V2 software development will cease after this date.

For more information on the end of support for V2, see a blog article posted
yesterday by REFEDS, the international organization for federation operators
(including InCommon): https://refeds.org/a/1341fl

Below are links to resources available to you as you plan your upgrade path
to Shibboleth IdP V3.

InCommon Installation Recommendations - We encourage you to read the InCommon
wiki page “Upgrading to Shibboleth IdP V3”
https://spaces.internet2.edu/x/GYtHBQ for recommendations on your transition
to V3.

Shibboleth Wiki - The Shibboleth Consortium maintains all of the software
documentation on its wiki, including release notes and information on
upgrading (https://wiki.shibboleth.net/confluence/display/IDP30/Home)

Judging by the two Shibboleth IdP V3 office hours held the last few weeks,
the biggest impediment to completing an upgrade seems to be time. We can’t
add six hours to the day, but if there is anything else we can do, please
contact us at:
