On February 15, 2016, InCommon will begin importing and exporting
metadata from and to eduGAIN at scale. Prior to this date, there are a
number of things you must do for *each* of your SAML deployments that
consumes InCommon metadata:

1) With the introduction of eduGAIN metadata, the size of the InCommon
production aggregate will more than double. Is your deployment ready
to consume a large aggregate? To find out how to prepare for eduGAIN
metadata, read the Getting Ready for eduGAIN [1] wiki page.

2) IdP metadata will be exported by default while SP metadata will be
exported on demand. Whether or not your metadata is exported to
eduGAIN, deployers should carefully consider the effects of eduGAIN
metadata. For more info, refer to the Getting Ready for eduGAIN [1]
wiki page.

If you are currently running Shibboleth IdP V2, now is a good time to
begin upgrading to Shibboleth IdP V3. [2] Although V3 is not strictly
required for eduGAIN, it would be better to focus your effort on V3
since V2 is quickly approaching end-of-life.
