Do not know if anyone has made this suggestion, that EZProxy/OCLC to
add an attribute to EZProxy config file indicating the domain is

or not to proxy the site and let vendor's shibboleth perform the
authentication?
The SPUEdit declaration effectively provides this capability. See
http://www.oclc.org/support/documentation/ezproxy/cfg/spuedit/
for the ezproxy doc, and see
https://spaces.internet2.edu/display/inclibrary/Testing+ezproxy+workflow+with+EBSCO+Interface
for examples of using it to redirect a user browser to a shibbolized service point (for EBSCO, in this case). Used well, SPUEdit also enables the Where Are You From process to be circumvented, and if the vendor supports it, deep linking.
