The SPUEdit declaration effectively provides this capability. See

for examples of using it to redirect a user browser to a shibbolized 
service point (for EBSCO, in this case). Used well, SPUEdit also enables 
the Where Are You From process to be circumvented, and if the vendor 
supports it, deep linking.
