In the Aug 24th call, we discussed in detail the
ezproxy workflow. Since that call, I have found some information (through
the ezproxy listserv) that contradicts what I said on the
call.
On the call, I said that ezproxy presents an error
message when attempting to proxy domains that are not configured within
ezproxy.
This is not correct.
There is an ezproxy option such that domains that
are not configured within ezproxy, can be redirected to. The option is
RedirectUnknown
It works like the following:
cnn.com is not defined in my
ezproxy.cfg
Option RedirectUnknown
ezproxy redirects to http://www.cnn.com and does not attempt to proxy
the session or force authentication
So, this means that ALL traffic can be redirected
through ezproxy, not just defined domains.
Just thought I'd share this with the
group.
