Greetings all,
The Consultation Period for the Baseline Expectations Maintenance Processes has ended and the InCommon Assurance Advisory Committee and Operations team are continuing to develop the infrastructure necessary to support the changes. In particular, accurate metadata is a critical area that needs your attention. The Baseline Expectations require that your metadata is accurate, complete, and contains necessary information to support the trust fabric and user experience goals of the federation.
One important item I recommend is that all IdP and SP administrators log in to the Federation Manager and verify their entities have:
- accurate and complete contact information
- a security contact
- user interface elements
- privacy policy URLs
We will begin communication to participants as we get closer to our implementation dates, but hope to reduce some of the pain by reaching out now. Additionally, the InCommon Operations team will develop an Entity Health Check tool to assist with identifying issues with entity metadata.
