Hi, Mark,

Virginia Tech's lead Shibboleth developer, Marvin Addison, may be interested
in serving on this working group, but the home page says membership is by
"invitation-only." Can you share any insight into the process by which
invitations are being extended to interested parties? Marvin is an active
contributor to the Shibboleth Consortium, having integrated the CAS protocol
into IdP v3. I believe he would be an asset to the group so I'd appreciate
any
more information you can provide.

Best,
Mary

Subject: [Assurance] Attributes for Collaboration and Federation Working
Group - Charter Review

Dear All,

I'm pleased to announce the Attributes for Collaboration and Federation
Working Group
<https://spaces.internet2.edu/display/AFCFWG/Attributes+for+Collaboration+and+Federation+Working+Group+Home>

(jointly sponsored by InCommon Steering, Technical Advisory Committee, and
Assurance Advisory Committee). This new working group will have participants
from the key stakeholder groups that need/use, "own", and protect common
attributes used in federated access exchanges. The group will explore
reasons
default attribute release policies (ARPs) are not in place at most campuses,
propose a default list of attributes for InCommon IdP operators, develop and
execute a roadmap for adoption of R&S as well as a default ARP, and review
and
enhance online content for identity provider administrators, so they have a
clear set of steps to follow to implement the desired approach.

The Working Group Charter
<https://spaces.internet2.edu/display/AFCFWG/Attributes+for+Collaboration+and+Federation+Working+Group+Home>

is currently available for comment (login required) while participants are
being sought from the stakeholder communities. Meeting minutes will be made
available on the wiki, and opportunities for additional community
input/feedback are planned (e.g. webinars, open meetings, etc.)

Thank you!

Mark (on behalf of InCommon Steering, TAC and AAC)
