InCommon announces an open call for nominees for one audit, one identity provider and one service provider representative to Assurance Advisory Committee, the group responsible for overseeing Bronze and Silver Profile certification and program development.

The role of the AAC representatives is to provide guidance on applications for certification. Representatives also provide additional leadership in identifying programmatic changes and support to help campus, research, and corporate organizations understand the requirements of and engage in Assurance.

Nominations from organizations actively pursuing or planning to pursue certification or to require InCommon Assurance qualifiers are welcome with the expectation that the individual will recuse herself/himself from AAC deliberations concerning her/his home organizations if appropriate.

To nominate an individual, please send your recommendation to  by Thursday, October 31, 2013. Please distribute this call to all interested parties.

Announcement of the January 2014 AAC roster will be forwarded to the community in December 2013.

DETAILS:

Voting Membership of the AAC is by appointment of the InCommon Steering Committee after reviewing the slate of nominees forwarded by the current AAC.  The AAC roster comprises the major stakeholders in the assurance process including identity providers, service providers, auditors, InCommon, and representatives at large. For a current roster of the Assurance Advisory Committee (AAC), see http://www.incommon.org/assurance/aac.html

Members serve three-year terms beginning in January.  For more detail on the duties and responsibilities of AAC members, see the committee's charter at http://www.incommon.org/docs/assurance/AAC_Charter.pdf
