New Sponsored Partners
The Great Plains Network is a regional network with 23 university members in eight states. In addition to advancing networking, GPN has a Cyberinfrastructure Program Committee, headed by Rick McMullen of the University of Arkansas, that is charged with advancing shared CI services to members: Federated identity management via InCommon is a key component of that infrastructure. The first service to roll out was GPN Dropoff for sending large email attachments. GPN Dropoff was designed and is managed by Gordon Springer of the University of Missouri. GPN is also piloting a second storage service using Globus Connect Multi-User with Sharing. GPN first became involved with federated IdM as part of the NMI-EDIT consortium, funded by the NSF's Middleware program.
LabArchives is a leading provider of Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN) software for both the academic and commercial sectors. Available in both "Classroom" and "Professional" Editions, LabArchives is used by scientists to manage their laboratory data as well as by instructors and students in lab courses such as chemistry, biology and physics. Our collaborative platform facilitates the storage, searching, and sharing of data as well as improves the educational process for budding scientists.
Internet2 member Tivli is a new, innovative IP-based television service that delivers live streaming access to television programming (national and local) and TV Everywhere products to university students on their terms -- wherever and whenever they want it on campus. Students want to watch prime time TV, live news, sports and entertainment not only in their dorm rooms but on their favorite devices. Tivli offers this through a convenient one-stop, seamless experience: a sleek interface and guide, DVR service (in beta), and On Demand service like HBO GO, as well as interactivity and social features (e.g., see what your Facebook friends are watching/recording). Now, students aren’t only getting entertainment in their residence halls, but they can take it on the go.
