IAM Online: Accepting Social Identities: Integration with SAML and Deployment Strategies.

Things are moving fast and furious to develop ways to integrate social identities with existing federated SAML-based identity management. The February IAM Online will talk about specific next steps, review the steps in configuring an SP to use the pilot gateway, answer questions about deployment, and discuss a central Social-to-SAML gateway. New Pricing for Duo Security Second-Factor Authentication

A new pricing model with Duo Security will allow qualified InCommon participants and Internet2 members to enroll as few as 500 users in Duo's mobile-based, two-factor authentication.

InCommon Steering Adds Two Members

Two new members have been appointed to the InCommon Steering Committee. Michael Gettes, assistant director for identity services at Carnegie Mellon University; and Klara Jelinkova, associate vice president and chief information technology officer at the University of Chicago, will serve three-year terms.

Reappointed to three-year terms are Mark Crase, chief technology officer for the California State University Office of the Chancellor; Chris Holmes, assistant general counsel at Baylor University; and John O’Keefe, associate vice president and chief information officer at Lafayette College.

Hamilton College - Participant #500

The InCommon community welcomed Hamilton College as its 500th participant late in January. As of the end of January, InCommon includes 337 higher education institutions, 28 government and non-profit research centers and agencies, and 135 corporate and non-profit partners

New Three-Year Comodo Agreement

Internet2 and Comodo have signed an agreement extending the InCommon Certificate Service partnership through 2016. Since opening its doors in mid-2010, the Certificate Service has attracted 221 subscribing institution.
