John O'Keefe, a strong advocate for federation and identity management, will present "Emerging Technologies in Higher Education: Big School Solutions to Small School Problems" in an EDUCAUSE Live session, Friday, October 2, at 1 p.m. EDT.
O'Keefe is the director of academic technology and network services at Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania. He will discuss how solutions implemented at large institutions can have a profound effect on how small schools can improve the services they offer on a regular basis. From Shibboleth to Internet2 to MPLS to iTunes U, this session will review some major developments over the past five years that can help smaller schools both address and transform their technology needs.
